This collection features 180 drawings and paintings created between 2020 and 2023, focusing on singular elements in isolation. The works explore color, form, and composition with immediacy, emphasizing practice and experimentation.
Discovery
I selected these pieces to highlight the beginnings of ideas and the moments of revelation, showcasing the subtle variations that gradually develop into final paintings, murals, and installations.
Video
While I made this work, I almost always recorded myself painting. I went through my hard drives and found footage for over fifty of these studies, and I’ve been editing it into short videos that show the creation process.
A few are up now on my YouTube page, and I’ll keep adding more.

Initially exhibited at HVW8 Gallery as part of my show "Gates of Heaven" in 2023, and now available online for the first time.
Pencil, acrylic, china marker, tempura stick, and Krink K60 paint marker on an array of paper stock, sizes: 8.5x11”, 9x12”, and 11x14”.
Each piece is signed, numbered, and embossed.
