23 Pairs of Black Stacks for Multi-Colored Paper - Digital Edition
I made this zine with Arkitip back in 2013. I think it was a standalone release, one of the printed objects they’d put out around magazine issues. It was a small run of only 100 copies, so not that many people got to see it. I only got one copy, number 23.
I think the direction from Arkitip was to work in black and white and keep the cost down of color copies. Or maybe this is just what I was on at the time. Either way, I came up with the idea of making 23 pairs of Sharpie drawings and printing them on multi-colored paper. The paper would be arranged at random, so every copy would have a different cycle of color as you flipped through.
Every couple of years, I’ll think about this zine or find it in a forgotten box of other printed things and wish I had extra copies to share. When the biennial cycle hit this last time, I thought I’d do a little something about it. So I scanned the pages, laid them out, and put together this digital edition.
There’s no replacement for a book in hand, but I figured this is the next best thing.
