I Found Some New Lines

I found some new lines.

新しい線を見つけました。

One is made with Sumi ink and moves quick, so the ink lags and scrapes across the page.

一つは墨で動きが速いため、墨が遅れ、紙の上を擦るような跡を残します。

It remembers everything: a stutter, the brush shifting in hand, each hesitation recorded as motion.

それは、すべてを覚えている。ためらいも、手の中で筆がずれる感覚も。一つひとつの迷いが、動きとして刻まれ、

The foundation.

土台になっていく。

The second is a free line.

二つ目は、自由な線。

If the Sumi ink creates the constraints, this line responds with improvisation.

墨がルールをこの線は、即興で応えます。

It can curve around angles, outline other lines, or break away completely.

角のまわりを曲がり、他の線の輪郭をなぞったり、ときには完全に離れていくこともできる。

It’s not bound to the figure, but it leans on it. Stretches across, disappears, then reappears on it.

それは形に縛られるのではなく、形に寄り添っている。形の上を横切り、消えては、また現れる。
